What this does

Converts Word files and images into PDF, then draws your stamp on the page you chose.
Embeds a PAdES-style signature (adbe.pkcs7.detached, SHA-256) that Adobe Acrobat and most PDF readers will validate.
Runs entirely in the browser. No document, certificate or password is transmitted to any server.

Terms of use

Sign only documents you are authorised to sign, using a certificate issued to you.
In India, a digital signature carries legal weight under the Information Technology Act 2000 only when the certificate is issued by a CCA-licensed Certifying Authority.
The unsigned stamp is a picture of a signature and nothing more. It proves nothing and verifies as nothing.
Misrepresenting the identity of a signer is forgery. You are responsible for what you sign.

Limits worth knowing

One signature pass per document. Re-signing an already-signed PDF here will invalidate the earlier signature.
Readers show "validity unknown" unless the issuing CA is in the reader's trust store. That is a trust setting, not a broken signature.
Word conversion renders the document to images, so text in the output PDF is not selectable. Save as PDF from Word first if you need selectable text.
No timestamp authority (RFC 3161) is attached — the signing time comes from this computer's clock.
Libraries load from a CDN on first open. To run with no network at all, download the five scripts and point the tags at local copies.
